A week ago, CAD-based renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A05s with a triple camera setup appeared. Now a new image, which may come from the manual, shows that the sister model Galaxy A05 will only have two cameras. The image confirms an earlier leak. Of the two cameras, only the 50 megapixel main camera is probably really usable.

The second camera on the Samsung Galaxy A05 is likely to be a 2 megapixel auxiliary module. Most likely it is a depth sensor, but possibly also a macro camera. This was also the case with last year’s Galaxy A04 and A04s. Another difference between the 2022 models is that the “s” version had NFC, at least in some markets. Judging by the picture, that will also be the case this year.
A Geekbench 6 test already showed that the Samsung Galaxy A05 has a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset under the hood. This is a solid upgrade over the P35 that makes its rounds in the A04. The Galaxy A05s should use the same G85 chip, which replaces the Exynos 850 in the A04s. The RAM is increased from 3 to 4 GB of RAM and Android 13 with One UI 5.x in the Core Edition runs ex works.
Both Samsung phones should be dual-SIM phones with a dedicated slot for a microSD card. There is no information yet about the integrated storage. The Google Play Console has already confirmed that the Galaxy A05’s display will still have a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels (20:9). The panel of the A05s should have identical specs. However, at 6.6 inches, the displays should be slightly larger than last year. Like last year, both smartphones are expected to have 5,000 mAh batteries with 15 watt charging power.
There is still no reliable information about a possible launch date for the Samsung Galaxy A05 and A05s.
