Slowly the hints of the next entry-level smartphone among the Samsung smartphones are growing – the Samsung Galaxy A05. Several model numbers have already surfaced online, including the SM-A055F and SM-A055M, along with their matching dual SIM versions. Now the F variant has completed several Geekbench 6 tests.

According to the scorecard, a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset (MT6769V/CZ) takes over the drive. That would be a decent upgrade over the Galaxy A04, which has a Helio P35 chip under the hood. Both processors are manufactured using a 12 Nm process. However, the G85 has two Cortex-A75 cores (2.0 GHz) and six A55 cores (1.8 GHz), compared to eight Cortex-A53 cores on the P35. This doubles the single-core performance and the multi-core tests also benefit significantly. In addition, the Mali-G52 MC2 is more than twice as fast compared to the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

The tested Samsung Galaxy A05 was equipped with 4 GB of RAM, which is a decent value in this category. The Galaxy A04 was available with both 3 GB and 4 GB RAM versions. More importantly, the memory is enough for Android 13 full version instead of resorting to Android 12 Go edition.

There is still no official information from Samsung on the Galaxy A05. The Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04s both launched at the end of August. Therefore, the presentation can actually not be long in coming.
