Samsung’s One UI 5 based on Android 13 has already been released on dozens of devices. And all of this despite the fact that the rollout only started a few weeks ago in October. Nevertheless, according to a new report, Samsung is already testing One UI 5.1, the successor to One UI 5. The new interface could celebrate its premiere on the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. According to the latest rumours, the Samsung flagship smartphones will be launched on February 1st.

On the other hand, as the slight bump in the version number suggests, One UI 5.1 is unlikely to be as big an update as its predecessor. However, Samsung has hinted in the past that it will introduce some new lock screen customization options with One UI 5.1. The Koreans could also integrate Android 13’s new media player widget design. Samsung left out the widget in One UI 5, although it is also based on Android 13.
Samsung currently tests the One UI 5.1 update on the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra with firmware version S90xEXXU2CVL7 (where the “x” varies by model). The test firmware already appeared on Samsung’s servers. Samsung could release the software-update for the Galaxy S22 series a few days after the launch of the S23 series.
