Xiaomi presented the new top smartphones of the Poco F5 / Redmi K60 series and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed at an event in China. Also on stage were three new wearables: the Redmi Watch 3 with a larger display, a new Band 2 with a thin and light body, and the affordable Buds 4 Lite earbuds.
Redmi Watch 3
The Redmi Watch 3 features a 1.75-inch diagonal AMOLED square display with a resolution of 341 ppi. The refresh rate is 60 Hz and the maximum brightness is 600 nits. The case has flat sides, similar to the current trend in smartphones, and a physical button on the side. There is an always-on display and over 200 different watch faces.
The Watch 3’s battery is now said to last 12 days on a single charge, including continuous SpO2 (blood oxygen) and heart rate monitoring. The device is water resistant to 50 meters and features GPS with GNSS tracking. You can measure 121 different sports and make calls via Bluetooth in connection with a mobile phone. A noise reduction microphone improves the call quality.
The price of the Redmi Watch 3 is CNY 499 CNY ($72). It is available in black or white, and there are also three colorful bracelets available for an additional CNY 69 ($10) each.
Redmi Band 2
The Redmi Band 2 has a 1.47-inch display, 76% larger than the first Redmi Band. The band itself is 9.99 mm thick and weighs 14.9 grams. Bluetooth calls are not supported, but blood oxygen measurement is. There’s also a menstrual cycle tracker for women and over 30 workout modes. The battery lasts six days with heavy use on a single charge, or almost 14 days with normal use.
The Redmi Band 2 costs CNY 159 ($23) until the end of 2022, then the price jumps to CNY 169 ($24). There are six color options: fluorescent green, rose gold, black, light blue, dark green, and white.
Redmi Buds 4 Lite
The Redmi Buds 4 Lite offer 12mm speakers for deep bass and intelligent noise cancellation for calls. The xiaomi buds weigh only 3.9 grams. Including the charging case, the battery life is up to 20 hours. Other specifications include Bluetooth 5.3 and an IP54 certification against water and dust.
The Redmi Buds 4 Lite are available in black, white, green and orange. The price in China will be CNY 139 ($20) till the end of the year and then rise to CNY 149 ($21).
