Realme today launched the GT Neo5 with 240 watt fast charging. This makes the GT Neo 5 the smartphone with the currently fastest charging rate on the market. As with the predecessor Realme GT Neo3 (80W/150W), there is a second variant with 150 watts of charging power and a slightly larger battery. Both models share the unique design with a luminous rectangle on the back.

The Realme GT Neo5 is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The 240 watt version has 16 GB of RAM and either 256 GB or 1 TB of storage. The GT Neo 5 150W can be configured with either 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM. The memory is always 256 GB. The 6.74-inch 10-bit AMOLED display has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and delivers a massive 1,500 Hz touch sampling rate.
The battery of the Realme GT Neo 5 240W has a capacity of 4,600 mAh and is charged with a 20V/12A adapter. The 150 W variant has a 5,000 mAh battery and a 20V/8A adapter. With the 240W power adapter, the Realme smartphone charges to 20% in 80 seconds and to 50% in 4 minutes. It takes less than 10 minutes to reach 100%. Only 30 seconds on the cable should be enough for up to 2 hours of talk time. However, the smartphone also works with older VOOC and SuperVOOC chargers and then charges with their maximum power.

The main rear camera features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor with 1/1.56-inch, OIS, a 6P lens and an f/1.9 aperture. There’s also an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 112-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The selfie camera features a 16-megapixel Samsung sensor and sits in a centered punchhole.

So much power must of course be adequately cooled. Therefore, the Realme GT Neo 5 features an 8-component cooling solution with a vapor chamber and multiple layers of graphite for heat dissipation. Safety has been confirmed and certified by TÜV Rheinland. Charging tests in the Realme laboratory showed that the phone warmed up by no more than 10 degrees. After 1,600 charges, Realme still promises 80% battery capacity.
The Realme GT Neo 5 features NFC and boots Android 13 with Realme UI 4.0. On the back sits an RGB LED rectangle that can act as a notification light and is fully customizable for different apps. It also lights up red when the battery drops below 20%.
There are three color options to choose from – white, black and purple. Prices for the Realme GT Neo5 240W start at 3,199 CNY (€438/$470) for the 16/256 GB version.
