Realme today presented its 240 watt charging system on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. It is currently the fastest charging system in the smartphone industry. Also, Realme has confirmed which phone will have it under the hood first – the Realme GT Neo 5. The Realme smartphone itself is still under wraps, but has already appeared in several leaks with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. But there should also be a version with 150 watt charging and a Dimensity 8200 processor.

That being said, the Realme GT Neo 5 has a 50-megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX890 sensor and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The ultra-wide has a resolution of 8 megapixels, the depth sensor has 2 megapixels and the selfie camera has 16 megapixels. The display is said to have a size of 6.7 inches with a resolution of 1.5K (1,240 x 2,772 pixels). The refresh rate is 144 Hz, and there is also high-frequency PWM dimming at 2,160 Hz available.
The GT Neo 5 will also have no fewer than 13 temperature sensors. Among other things, these monitor the charging process and reduce the power if the heat exceeds the expected values. According to Realme, the battery should still keep 80% of its original capacity after 1,600 charging cycles.
Realme has already unveiled the charger that will deliver the 240 watts of power. It supports both 20V/12A and 10V/24A operation and is surprisingly small – just 5% larger than the 150W predecessor that came with the Realme GT Neo 3 (150W).
The Realme GT Neo 3 with 150 Watt has a 4,500 mAh battery that charges from 0 to 100% in around 16 minutes. There is no information yet on the battery capacity of the GT Neo 5 or the charging times. The presentation is next month.
