OnePlus Nord 3 with Dimensity 9000 and large battery for 449 euros unveiled

After months of leaks, OnePlus has finally unveiled its new mid-range flagship for 2023 – the OnePlus Nord 3 is here. The smartphone offers a number of upgrades over its predecessor, the Nord 2T. These include a bigger and better display, a more powerful chipset and a bigger battery.

The OnePlus Nord 3’s OLED display has grown from 6.43 to 6.74 inches and has a higher resolution of 1,240 x 2,772 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of 40-120 Hz, a color depth of 10-bit and HDR10+ content. The panel also offers an extremely high touch sampling rate of 1,000 Hz. We also get stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos certification.

A fast MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset replaces the old Dimensity 1300, which should result in significantly better performance and at the same time greater efficiency. There is also 8 or 16 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. The camera hardware, on the other hand, remains unchanged. The main camera with OIS and an f/1.9 aperture still resolves 50 megapixels on a 1/1.56-inch Sony IMX890 sensor with 1.0 µm pixels. The ultra-wide cam remains at 8 megapixels, an f/2.3 aperture and a 120-degree field of view. The 2-megapixel macro camera is also identical, while the selfie camera has a new 16-megapixel sensor.

The OnePlus Nord 3 is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, a significant increase over its predecessor’s 4,500 mAh battery. The charging speed remains the same at 80 watts. Unsurprisingly, Android 13 with OxygenOS 13 takes over the operating system part. OnePlus is promising three major Android updates, which is a pretty good deal in the mid-range.

In addition, the OnePlus Nord 3 is protected against splash water and dust according to IP54 and comes with the well-known alarm slider. There are two colors – Misty Green and Tempest Gray. The starting price for the 8/128 GB version is 499 euros (542 us-dollars), while the 16/256 GB variant costs 50 euros more. However, OnePlus is offering some Early Bird discounts until July 31st. With these, you can find the OnePlus smartphone for 449 euros at OnePlus Austria.

The Chinese also introduced the OnePlus Nord CE 3 and the Nord Buds 2r today.
