Last week, the first 3D renderings of the OnePlus Fold came to light. Tipster OnLeaks is now reporting back with details about the hardware, including technical data for the display, the chipset and the cameras. Accordingly, the new foldable gets a 7.8-inch LTPO AMOLED main display with a resolution of 1,900 x 2,100 pixels. The cover display is also based on AMOLED technology, measures 6.3 inches and, like the main display, has a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The OnePlus Fold is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, similar to the top configuration of the OnePlus 11. The battery has a capacity of 4,800 mAh and charges at 67 watts versus 5,000 mAh and 100 watts on the OnePlus 11.

A triple camera setup works on the back. As usual with OnePlus flagships, it is likely to have been developed together with Hasselblad. The 48 megapixel main camera should be based on a Sony IMX890 sensor. We also get a 48 megapixel ultra wide and a 64 megapixel telephoto camera. There are also, of course, two selfie cameras on the OnePlus Fold – a 32-megapixel front camera in the cover display and a 20-megapixel camera on the inside.

OnePlus’ OxygenOS 13.1 based on Android 13 takes over the os part. We also get a fingerprint sensor in the side frame and the well known alarm slider. OnePlus hasn’t set an official date yet. But according to rumors the Chinese will unveil the Fold in New York in August. That would be immediately after the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. The rumors about a OnePlus Flip, on the other hand, have decreased significantly recently.
