OnePlus 12R: First images, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and zoom lens

The OnePlus 12 should launch in China in December and in the global market in January. It seems that the company will soon present the next high-end model – the OnePlus 12R. OnLeaks and MySmartPrice today released the first renders and some key specs of the successor to the OnePlus 11R. Rumor has it, that the new model will also see the light of day in China in January. However, it seems to differ from the Ace 2 Pro, which is also currently haunting the rumor mill. This is important to note because the 11R was based on the Ace 2.

According to the leak, the OnePlus 12R has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor as well as up to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The flagship OnePlus 12 should instead get the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which Qualcomm will likely introduce in October. Another upgrade over the 11R and its 8+ Gen 1 is the zoom camera with 2x optical magnification and a 32-megapixel sensor. The 11R has a 2 megapixel macro camera instead. We also get a 50 megapixel main camera and an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera.

According to the latest rumors, the OnePlus phone gets a 10% larger battery with a capacity of 5,500 mAh and 100 watts of fast charging. In addition, there is a 6.7-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1.5K. This is presumably the same resolution of 1,240 x 2,772 pixels as the 11R. The display is also slightly curved on the sides.

Earlier R models also came to India. The OnePlus 12R could therefore also follow this path. But the presentation should take place on the home market in China. As mentioned at the beginning, the same applies to the OnePlus 12, which, contrary to previous rumours, is now to be presented in January 2024.
