OnePlus 12

OnePlus had double reason to celebrate today. At a big event in China, the corks popped on the company’s tenth anniversary and on the premiere of the OnePlus 12. The new flagship has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Wireless charging is back again after the OnePlus 11 had to do without it. There is also protection against dust and splash water according to IP65 on board.

The OnePlus 12 is based on a 6.82-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. Manufactured by BOE, the panel achieves a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits for HDR contents or 1,600 nits with normal use. A 2,160 Hz PWM dimming function and a blue light filter are also available.

The camera setup was developed with Hasselblad’s optics specialists, including a 50-megapixel main camera with a dual-layer Sony Lytia 808 stack sensor. The chip offers 1.12µm pixels and works with a 24mm f/1.7 lens with OIS, just like in the OnePlus Open. You also get a 70 mm telephoto with 64 megapixels, 3x optical zoom and up to 6x lossless hybrid zoom. There is also a 14mm ultrawide camera with 48 megapixels and an IMX581 sensor.

In China, the OnePlus 12 runs ColorOS 14.0 based on Android 14, which will likely be replaced by OxygenOS 14 globally. The 5,400 mAh dual-cell battery is the largest in a OnePlus smartphone to date. The cell also charges wirelessly with up to 50 watts and reverse wirelessly with 10 watts. Wired you get up to a fast 100 watts.

The new flagship also supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity standards. An infrared transmitter and a USB-C 3.2 port are also on board.
