OnePlus 12 to fix weak points of OnePlus 11

If all of the rumored features end up in the OnePlus 12, it will likely become one of the highest-quality OnePlus phones of all time.

The OnePlus 12 is coming soon. Depending on which rumor you believe, it will be announced in either December or January. However, the predecessor’s premiere last year only took place for the Chinese market and the global rollout came a few weeks later. The OnePlus 11 also had to stand some criticism that it was missing out on important functions. According to a new rumor, that will change with the next flagship.

The info comes from the generally very reliable Weibo source Digital Chat Station. In contrast to the OnePlus 11, the OnePlus 12 will support wireless charging, with no less than 50 watts. The USB-C port is based on the USB 3.2 standard and there is an IR transmitter. As has often been discussed in the rumor mill, a “high-quality” periscope zoom lens with a triple optical zoom and a 64 megapixel sensor will also be on board.

These are all features that the OnePlus 11 was missing. If they all actually make their way into the OnePlus 12, it will likely become one of the most capable OnePlus smartphones of all time. Given this background, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Chinese turned up the price a little.

According to previous rumors, the OnePlus 12 will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. There is also either 16 or 24 GB of RAM, at least 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage and a 5,400 mAh battery with support for 100 watt wired charging. The 6.82-inch QHD+ display will run at 120 Hz and should achieve a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Android 14 will be the operating system, OxygenOS 14 the skin and Sony’s new IMX966 sensor will power the main camera.
