The OnePlus 11, currently the Chinese company’s flagship, was launched back in January this year. Accordingly, the development of the successor is in full swing, which will, unsurprisingly, be called the OnePlus 12. The OnePlus 12 will launch in China in December, according to a new leak from a usually reliable source. The global release could come a few weeks or months later.

According to the tip, the first tests with engineering samples are currently underway. The upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which draws power from a 5,000 mAh battery with 100 watt charging, should already take over the drive. The 6.7-inch OLED display resolves QHD with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The OnePlus 12 has three main cameras: a 50-megapixel wide, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 64-megapixel periscope zoom camera. The periscope would be a first for a OnePlus smartphone, though not for sister company Oppo. That being said, there doesn’t seem to be many hardware upgrades at first glance. The display is the same size, resolution and refresh rate as its predecessor. And the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 follows the usual OnePlus pattern of equipping the current flagship with the fastest chipset available.
However, we are currently still at the very beginning of the development cycle for the OnePlus 12, as there are still seven months to go before the actual market launch. Until then, various plans and technical data may change.
