Ahead of its international debut on February 7th, the OnePlus 11 was officially launched in the Chinese home market today. Although the OnePlus phone no longer has a Pro in its name, it is a full-fledged flagship with the currently fastest chipset and memory as well as powerful cameras.
OnePlus 11 is no longer throttled
OnePlus explicitly mentioned on stage that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset is running at its full potential. Normally that wouldn’t be worth mentioning. However, it could indicate that OnePlus is no longer limiting the performance of the chip in order to extend battery life. The smartphone comes with 12 or 16 GB of the latest LPDDR5X RAM and 256 or 512 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The OnePlus 11 is based on a new 6.7-inch LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440p. The refresh rate can vary freely from 1 to 120 Hz. According to OnePlus, over 100 apps support this.

OnePlus upgraded the Hasselblad camera on the back to a 50-megapixel main sensor – the Sony IMX890 with multi-directional PDAF and OIS. There’s a 48-megapixel autofocus Sony IMX581 ultra-wide camera that doubles as a macro camera, and a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x magnification. The 16-megapixel selfie camera sits in a punchhole in the top-left corner. The camera setup is seemingly identical to that of the Oppo Find N2. But that’s not a big surprise, since both brands belong to the same BBK group.

Like the predecessor, the battery of the OnePlus 11 has a capacity of 5,000 mAh. The charging speed has increased significantly again with 100 watts per cable. Surprisingly, wireless charging isn’t on the menu. Gamers will appreciate the X-axis vibration motor measuring 602mm² – the largest in a smartphone to date, according to OnePlus.
