Samsung is currently distributing the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra. The foldable Galaxy Z Fold4 (review) and the Galaxy Z Flip4 (review) are also in. The new software wasn’t supposed to come until next week. But as usual, Samsung isn’t wasting any time on its firmware updates. Here’s the full changelog of Samsung’s latest interface:

Among other things, Samsung One UI 5.1 brings new gallery functions as well as productivity and personalization improvements. The S Pen gets advanced screenshot capture with a smart picker feature to create differently shaped screenshots. You can extract text, pin notes and create short GIF animations. Screen Write takes a full-screen snapshot that you can write on with different pens and brushes. Screen Translate can translate single words into a preselected language.
There’s also powerful multi-window split-display functionality, particularly useful on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold4. With One UI 5.1 you can select any split-screen ratio, save favorite app pairs and create pop-up windows with any opacity.
According to the rumors so far, One UI 5.1 will arrive on all Samsung phones that have also received the One UI 5.0 update.
