The Samsung Galaxy S24 series introduced the Galaxy AI. This was followed by the flagships of 2023, making the AI functions available to around 100 million users. But there’s more: Samsung has now confirmed that it will also update its 2022 flagship devices. No matter whether it is smartphones, foldables or tablets.

Galaxy AI will be part of the One UI 6.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, S22 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, Tab S8+ and Tab S8 Ultra are also included. The list of features includes Google’s Circle to Search, Chat Assistant, Interpreter, Live Translation, Notes Assistant, Transcript Assistant, Browsing Assistant, Generative Editing, Edit Suggestions, and AI-generated background images.

According to Samsung, the rollout will start in early May. As a reminder, Galaxy AI features can be used for free until the end of 2025. It’s not clear which features will become premium or how much they will cost.

A few days ago, a moderator of the Samsung Community Forum in Korea had already posted that the 2022 devices will get the Galaxy AI functions next. The mod also claimed that some 2021 models would receive a limited range of features. These include the Galaxy S21 series, the Galaxy Z Flip3 and the Z Fold3, which should only get Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite. However, Samsung has not yet confirmed the story through an official press release.
