In addition to an improved under-display camera, the nubia Red Magic 8 Pro should also get faster charging and a larger battery.

Gaming brand Nubia, partly owned by ZTE, is hard at work on its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship. A well-known tipster now claims that the new nubia Red Magic 8 Pro will sport faster wired charging and a larger battery alongside an improved under-display camera.

The new smartphone is shorter, thinner and narrower compared to the current flagship nubia Red Magic 7S Pro. The smaller footprint supposedly does not affect the display. According to Digital Chat Station, the phone sticks with a 6.8-inch OLED display, just like its predecessor.

The sensor of the UD selfie camera also retains its resolution of 16 megapixels. However, the overhead panel will get improvements that ensure a clearer picture and better video quality. On the back, nubia also installs three main cameras. A 50 megapixel wide-angle is joined by an 8 megapixel ultrawide and a 2 megapixel auxiliary sensor.

The battery will come in two versions with a capacity of 5,000 mAh and 6,000 mAh. The Nubia Red Magic 8 Pro will support 165W wired charging, presumably for the smaller version that has already been certified by the 3C. It is likely that this variant will only go on sale in China, while the model with the larger battery will charge more slowly and be sold internationally.
