Nothing Phone (2): Next firmware with various camera updates

The Nothing Phone (2) showed the first firmware update with various camera improvements in mid-July, before the smartphone was even officially launched. Today, just a few weeks later, the next version called Nothing OS 2.0.2 is already out. on the way, which solves more camera problems.

With this, the Nothing Phone (2) delivers better sharpness in 50 megapixel mode, more stability and contrast when recording videos, improved photo quality in low light conditions, better contrast, improved bokeh, optimized clarity of faces in portrait mode and faster HDR processing speed. The selfie camera also has improved image sharpness. In addition, it should deliver better images in low light conditions and now process HDR images faster.

Other new features include shutting down apps when the phone reaches its temperature limit. There are also new animations for empty battery and new icons for the various Nothing headphones in the volume control.

The Nothing Phone (2) update also includes the July 2023 security patch. The haptic feedback can be fine-tuned and the touchscreen should respond more reliably. Nothing also overhauled network connections for “multiple global carriers” and overall system stability. In addition, some games should work better when playing in HDR.

Nothing also fixed issues with Dirac Audio, Google Wallet and Bluetooth quick settings. “Double Tap to Wake” is also more responsive, in addition to “other general bug fixes”. If you haven’t received the update yet, you can simply start the manual search in the settings of your Nothing Phone (2) under System > System update.
