According to company boss Carl Pei, the Nothing Phone (2) will be launched in July. The information came out in an interview with Forbes Magazine. Previously, Pei had already revealed that the second Nothing smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. That’s placing it well above the mid-range Nothing Phone (1). However, it is not quite on par with the flagships of 2023 either, since they are already based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The decision was primarily related to the cost of the two chipsets. From Nothing’s point of view, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 offered the more competitive overall package here with better value for money. From our point of view, apart from hardcore gamers, all other users should also be completely happy with the 8+ Gen 1. Especially when the recommended retail price of the Nothing Phone (2) drops noticeably.
Nothing itself showed the first teaser image for the phone (2) at the beginning of the month. In the meantime, however, marketing seems to be running on all cylinders. New technical details come to light about every two weeks. As is the battery size today – the Nothing Phone (2) will have a 4,700 mAh battery under the hood. That’s 200 mAh more than the Nothing Phone (1), but not quite as much as the current flagship smartphone benchmark of 5,000 mAh.
