A few days ago, Nothing founder Carl Pei teased Nothing OS 1.5.0 based on Android 13 for the Nothing Phone (1). However, Pei did not give a time frame for the introduction of the stable update at the time. Instead, Nothing has pushed a smaller software update called Nothing OS 1.1.7 today. On board are some improvements as well as bug fixes and better AirPods support.

The new update is around 80MB in size and lets Nothing Phone (1) owners see Apple AirPods battery status. This is an experimental feature that can be enabled in the Settings > Experimental Features menu. Nothing OS 1.1.7 also improves system speed and audio quality when recording videos. It also increases the Android security patch level on the Nothing Phone (1) to November 2022.
The changelog also mentions general bug fixes. And an issue was fixed where WhatsApp notifications stopped responding on the smartphone lock screen. If you haven’t received the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update yet, you can also check for it manually. Simply start the manual search in the Settings > System > System updates menu.
