HMD Global, a Finnish company that has been responsible for Nokia’s cell phone division for several years now, has been doing quite well since the takeover. Prior to the transition, Nokia was on the brink of obscurity and barely featured in the news. In the meantime, however, the company is back on track and, for example, does a lot more right than some other manufacturers when it comes to update policy.

Nokia X20 / G60 5G Google security patch December 22
Today it is the turn of three new models: The Nokia X10, X20 and the Nokia G60 5G get Google’s latest security patch from December 2022. The download size of the new firmware for the X series is around 94MB. The update for the Nokia G60 5G is just above that at 101MB.
The updates should work for all devices worldwide. The changelog shows for all three devices that only Google’s December security patch is on board. There are no other bug fixes or optimizations. Anyone who has not yet received the new firmware on their X10, X20 or X60 5G can, as usual, also search for it manually. Simply start the manual search in the settings under software update.
