Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5: Camera specifications leaked
While Samsung relies on the best hardware currently available for the chipsets and displays of its foldables, the cameras have been lagging behind for years. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 (review) and Galaxy Z Flip4 (review) caught up significantly. However, the cameras of the current generation still don’t really keep up with the rest of the innovative technology. Today the first details about the cameras of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 have surfaced and there is good news and bad news.

According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will have the same 50-megapixel main camera, the same 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and the same 10-megapixel telephoto camera. The Galaxy Z Flip5 also retains the dual 12-megapixel setup with wide and ultra-wide cameras. That’s the not particularly promising part.
The good news is that the Samsung smartphones are getting new camera sensors, which should result in better image quality. It’s unclear if all sensors on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 get an update or just some. The report also mentions an improved hinge design, larger outer displays, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chipset.
