Motorola Edge 40 Pro hits Google Play Console with SD 8 Gen 2

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro appeared in the Geekbench database last week. Now the Motorola smartphone has paid a visit to the Google Play console. Accordingly, a flagship smartphone awaits us with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 12 GB of RAM and a 1080p display. Everything indicates that Motorola will bring the Edge 40 Pro as a global version of the Moto X40 already presented in China.

The wallpaper on the device even looks the same as the official images from the Motorola website. You can see the 2.5D curved bezels and centered punchhole, just like the Moto X40.

In addition, the entry in the Google Play Console confirms that the Motorola Edge 40 Pro supports Google services. Android 13 is used as the operating system. Hopefully there will be an official teaser from Motorola with the launch date soon.

Honor Magic5 spotted on Geekbench ahead of announcement

Honor will officially announce its flagships Magic5 and Magic5 Pro at MWC Barcelona. A new Geekbench entry surfaced earlier today, confirming some key specs of the non-Pro model. The device with the model code Honor PGT-AN00 is equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and 12 GB RAM. It managed 1,411 single-core points and a multi-core score of 4,584 points.

Also, Geekbench lists Android 13 as the operating system, presumably with the latest version of Magic UI. Previous rumors have suggested that the Magic5 will sport quad 50-megapixel cameras with up to 5x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom. It supports 66 watts of fast charging, while the Pro model, like its predecessor, might crack the 100 watt barrier. Honor is also introducing the Magic5 and Magic5 Pro on February 27th at Mobile World Congress.

vivo X Fold 2: First foldable with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

vivo launched the X Fold in China last April with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Now the Vivo X Fold 2 is set to become the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 foldable. The tip comes from reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, who also revealed that the vivo X Fold 2 will have a 4,800 mAh battery. That would be a 200mAh and 70mAh upgrade over the X Fold and X Fold+ batteries, respectively.

The vivo X Fold2 also supports faster wired charging at 120 watts instead of the 66 watts of the X Fold and the 80 watts of the X Fold+. Also, the X Fold+ got an additional color option (red) and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. However, as with its predecessors, the big question will be whether the Fold2 will also be sold outside of China.
