New OnePlus 12 leak confirms 24GB RAM

The OnePlus 12 is expected to launch in January, a year after the OnePlus 11. There have already been several spec leaks, revealing details on both camera setup and battery size. Today’s latest leak now confirms most of the specs.

According to the usually very reliable Weibo source Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 12 will make next to no compromises in terms of technology. It will have a curved display manufactured by an unnamed Chinese company. The panel supports high-frequency dimming with pulse width modulation and is apparently based on a new substrate technology.

The OnePlus smartphone will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in combination with 16 or even 24 GB of RAM. The battery is similarly large with a capacity of 5,400 mAh. It supports 100W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.

The main camera of the OnePlus 12 will use a new, not yet announced 50 megapixel sensor from Sony. In addition, the OnePlus 12 gets a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 64-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto camera. This would be the first time OnePlus would install a periscope telephoto in one of its smartphones. The phone features a metal midframe and an ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor integrated into the display. The vibration motor will be an “ultra large” X-axis motor for clear and deep vibrations. And of course there will be a “super large” heat dissipation area for adequate cooling under full load.

According to previous rumors, the display size will be 6.7 inches, the refresh rate will be 120 Hz and the resolution will be QHD+. At least 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage and a 32 megapixel selfie camera are also on board. OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 is used as the operating system.
