According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is working on a new Apple Pencil, and it will apparently come with some exciting new features. The upcoming pen will have integrated haptic feedback, which should make the writing experience feel more natural. Hopefully this will be at least somewhat customizable so that it behaves differently depending on what you do with the pen. However, such details have not yet come to light.

Other recent rumors also suggested that the Apple Pencil will come with a squeeze detection mechanism. Combining this with the double-tap gesture could give iPad owners more ways to interact with their tablets.

Interestingly, the next Apple Pencil could also work with the Vision Pro headset, although exactly how is unclear. The new stylus is expected to go official on May 7, alongside long-awaited updates for the iPad Pro and iPad Air.
