The Motorola Razr 2023 is coming soon. An official teaser from Motorola revealed this today and also announced that it will have a “groundbreaking” refresh rate. We expect the inner display to refresh at 144Hz, a step above the 120Hz of current foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4.
The main display is likely to be 6.7 inches in size and to have a 1080p resolution. A Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset should take over the drive, although a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 would also be conceivable. The battery will either be close to the 3,500mAh of the current Moto Razr 2022 or it will be downgraded to a 2,850mAh cell.
The smaller battery could be necessary to accommodate a larger cover display. Exactly this outer display can possibly be reduced to the most important information. Even the name itself is still unclear, as Motorola should launch two foldables this year. In addition to the Razr 2023 base model, which might go by the name Razr Lite, there should also be a Razr+ as the flagship of the series. Motorola could also opt for a name like Pro or Ultra for this more powerful version.
Motorola Razr 2023 renders
There are also new renders of the Motorola smartphone, showing a design that looks very similar to older Samsung foldables with a tiny cover display next to the cameras. Images may show the Razr Lite with a camera punch hole under the foldable panel that has thin bezels all around. The volume rocker and the power button can be seen on the upper right side.
The Motorola Razr 2022 already had its dual cameras horizontally above a large 2.7-inch display. Therefore, the renderings can actually only be a Motorola Razr Lite. At least you could read some notifications there. But there would probably be no way around opening the smartphone to reply to messages.
