Motorola is currently gearing up to launch the Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra soon. Yesterday, a TENAA certification came to light in China, and today the Ultra bagged approval from the 3C authority. It was revealed that the Razr 50 Ultra will support 68W wired charging, which is a huge increase from the 30W of its predecessor, the Razr 40 Ultra.

This certification did not reveal any further details about the Motorola Razr 50 Ultra. But based on previous rumors and leaks, we expect the Ultra to have a 6.9-inch foldable display with FHD+ resolution and 165Hz refresh rate, as well as a 4-inch P-OLED cover display. There are two 50-megapixel cameras on the back, and a 32-megapixel selfie camera on the front. The 4,000mAh battery holds 200mAh more than the Razr 40 Ultra had available. The Ultra is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The regular Motorola Razr 50 instead adopts the Razr 40 Ultra’s 3.6-inch cover display with camera and LED flash cutouts. The TENAA certification also revealed key specs like storage, cameras, and CPU frequency. We expect the Razr 50 to launch with a mid-range chipset and a fairly large battery, but the overall design will be retained.

The Razr 50 will also have a foldable 6.9-inch OLED display inside with a FullHD+ resolution and a hole for a 32-megapixel selfie camera. There is a 50-megapixel camera on the back, along with a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle. Although the Motorola smartphone has two OLED panels, it will have a fingerprint scanner on the side. The Razr 40 was launched with a mid-range Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. But now Motorola is reportedly turning to MediaTek. The CPU is listed at 2.5 GHz and reports suggest it is a Dimensity 7300X platform, which is yet to be announced.

In terms of size, the Razr 50 measures 171.3 x 73.9 x 7.2mm (unfolded) and weighs 188g. It will launch with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The final storage combinations will be revealed at launch. Rumors also suggest it will have IPX8 water resistance. According to a tip, the Razr 50 will be priced at $699. That would be the same price as the Motorola Razr (2023), which launched in October 2023. It will launch next month, most likely under the names Razr and Razr+ in North America.
