Motorola Moto G73 and G53: images and specs

The Indian website The Tech Outlook has published a comprehensive leak on the upcoming Motorola Moto G73 and G53. More precisely about the global versions, since the G53 is already available in China. The Moto G73 in the pictures looks the same in design as the current Moto G72 and also has a plastic body. The color shown in the renderings is Meteorite Gray.

The Motorola Moto G72 sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. A MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset takes over the drive in combination with 6 or 8 GB of RAM. The internal memory is expandable and has a capacity of up to 256 GB. There are two cameras on the back: a 50-megapixel main camera with an aperture of f/1.8 and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide with an aperture of f/2.2. The selfie camera has 16 megapixels with an f/2.4 aperture.

The battery has a capacity of 5,000 mAh and supports Motorola’s turbo power charging with up to 30 watts. Both Motorola smartphones start with Android 13.

The more affordable Motorola Moto G53 uses a similar design language, but makes do with a Snapdragon 480+ processor. The 6.5-inch IPS LCD display has a resolution of 1,600 x 720 pixels at 120 Hz. A maximum of 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage space is available. The base configuration is 4/64 GB.

The rear camera setup is rather modest with a 50-megapixel f/1.8 main camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera has 8 megapixels and an f/2.0 aperture. At first glance, the battery also appears to be identical with 5,000 mAh, but only charges with 10 watts.

Judging by the press photos, both the Motorola Moto G73 and the Moto G53 have stereo speakers and some sort of enhanced gaming mode. The G73 even offers Dolby Atmos sound. Interestingly, this report contradicts a Moto G53 leak from last month. At least the article points to an imminent launch in India, so light will soon come into the darkness.
