Motorola Moto G53, G13 and E13: First pictures

The last few leaks have shown some movement in Motorola’s entry-level and mid-range. Images and specifications of the Moto G53 and Moto G73 have already appeared a few days ago, and renders of the Moto G23 two days ago. Now we have the first live images of the Moto G53, which Motorola presented in China in December with a Snapdragon 480+ chipset and two cameras. The first images show the contents of a retail box clearly intended for overseas markets. Therefore, the G53 is likely to launch globally soon.

The Moto G53 pictured has the model number XT2335-2, a blue back and 4/128 GB of storage. Apparently, this very version is intended for the European market with a dual SIM slot and an eSIM slot, which would be a first for a Motorola Moto G smartphone.

The Chinese Motorola Moto G53 has a 50 megapixel main camera and a 5,000 mAh battery, which unfortunately only charges with 10 watts. The global version is probably identical. Other specifications include a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 720p resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. There is a USB-C port and a fingerprint sensor in the power button. Motorola sells the 8/128GB version of the Moto G53 in China for 1,099 CNY, which is about $162.

Motorola Moto G13

The Motorola Moto G13 and E13 have also previously appeared in pictures. Thanks to Twitter tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore, there are now, in addition to higher-quality images, fairly detailed technical data for the two Motorola smartphones. The Motorola Moto G13 appears to be almost identical to the Moto G23. However, the G13 has a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while the G23 gets a 5-megapixel ultrawide camera. In addition, the resolution of the selfie camera is halved to 8 megapixels. And fast charging for the 5,000 mAh battery decimates Motorola from 30 to 20 watts.

Apart from these details, the two smartphones share most of their specifications. This includes a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels (20:9) and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The display is guarded by Panda Glass. The main camera on the back of both phones has a resolution of 50 megapixels.

A MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset sits at the helm and the operating system is Android 13. The G23 is said to have 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, but nothing is known about the E13 in this regard. There’s IP52 water and dust protection, a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack and stereo speakers.

Motorola Moto E13

The Motorola Moto E13 is significantly further down the food chain with a 6.52-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a Unisoc Tiger T606 chipset (2x Cortex-A75, 6x Cortex-A55, Mali-G57 GPU). The Android 13 Go Edition as the operating system also fits in with this. The battery has the same capacity of 5,000 mAh, but the charging speed drops even lower to 10 watts via USB-C. There’s a basic 13-megapixel camera, plus a microSD slot.

The Moto E13 should be araound $100-120 in a 2/64GB configuration. The price of the Moto G13 is not yet known, but the very similar G23 will reportedly be around $200.
