Motorola Moto G14 with FHD+ display and 5,000 mAh battery unveiled

Motorola today launched the newest member of the Moto G series in India – the Motorola Moto G14 is here. Unlike the Moto G13 from earlier this year and the more expensive G23 and G53 models, it doesn’t have an HD+ display. Instead, an FHD+ resolution is on board, for which you previously had to use the more expensive Moto G73.

The Motorola Moto G14 is based on a 6.5-inch FHD+ display (20:9), which is quite a big upgrade. On top of that, Motorola uses a high quality IPS LCD panel, although it only runs at 60Hz versus 90Hz on the G13. The remaining technical data are largely identical. The G14 uses a Unisoc T616 chipset (12Nm) with two 2.0GHz Cortex-A75 cores and six 1.8GHz A55 cores and a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. The chip doesn’t differ much from the Helio G85 from the G13, another 12Nm chip with the same CPU cores and clock speeds. However, a different GPU is on board with the Mali-G52 MC2.

The Motorola Moto G14 is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery that charges up to 15 watts with the 20 watt charger that comes with it. This is a small upgrade compared to the G13, which only charges with 10 watts. In addition to the USB-C port, there is a 3.5mm headphone jack with FM radio support. Alternatively, you can use the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos to listen to music.

In addition to two SIM cards, the triple card slot also accepts a microSD card with up to 1 TB of storage. The Motorola smartphone comes with Android 13 and there is only one configuration – 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The camera setup is the same as before. A single 50 megapixel camera with 0.64 µm native pixels meets a depth sensor. There is also an 8 megapixel selfie camera (1.12 µm) on the front. Both cameras shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Also worth mentioning is the IP52 dust and water resistance as well as the fingerprint sensor installed on the side.

Motorola Moto G14 prices

There are two color variants to choose from: sky blue and steel gray. Two other versions, Pale Lilac and Butter Cream Vegan Leather, will also be released soon. The Motorola Moto G14 is already available for pre-order through Flipkart in India. Open sale starts on August 8th. The price is ₹10,000 (€111/$122) but there is a discount of ₹750 with an ICICI credit card.
