After the recent leaks about the Motorola Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion, we now get the first rumors about the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, the top model in the series. The Edge 50 Pro will be official in April and according to the latest rumors on the subject, the Edge 50 Fusion could join it. Interestingly, the new Edge 50 Ultra renders below show April 3 as the date on the display, just like the other models. This means the start could take place as early as next Wednesday.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is said to use the just-unveiled Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is essentially a “lite” version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launched last year. There are three 50-megapixel cameras on the back, including a 12mm ultra-wide lens and a 72mm periscope, which presumably boasts a 3x optical zoom.

The setup also features laser autofocus and a multi-LED flash. Color options include light beige, black and peach fuzz. The black model appears to use a faux leather finish, and the Peach Fuzz model could go the same route. The light beige version, on the other hand, has a continuous finish on the entire back, which flows seamlessly into the raised camera island.

The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra features a curved display and Motorola’s new Android interface Hello UI. It will receive three major Android updates and will cost $999 in the US. However, renamed as usual – either as Motorola Edge+ 2024 or as Edge Ultra 2024.

Official-looking videos surfaced

Additionally, well-known tipster Evan Blass has posted several official-looking video teasers for the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. The videos also provide clues about some of the specifications of the Motorola phone. The first one shows it being submerged in water, which clearly indicates IP68 protection.

You can clearly see the curved display, which also has Gorilla Glass protection. Motorola and Corning announced a new partnership at MWC that will see all future Moto phones receive reinforced glass protection.

The panel is expected to be 6.7 inches and support FHD+ resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. There are also stereo speakers on board.
