The Edge 50 Pro is already official, but the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is still coming. Apparently with a fast Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset.

Motorola introduced the Edge 50 Pro earlier this month, but it won’t be the only member of the Edge 50 series for long. We have already seen leaks about the Edge 50 Ultra and the Edge 50 Fusion. Motorola has also announced an event for April 16th where the entire Edge family will celebrate its world premiere. So April 16th is most likely the time when the Edge 50 Ultra will be officially unveiled.

As we get closer to this date, more leaks will appear, as usual. This was also the case today, when someone ran a Geekbench 6 test with a Motorola Edge 50 Ultra prototype. This resulted in a high single-core score of 1,947 points and a multi-core score of 5,149 points. These results are in the top group and are only surpassed by high-end processors such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the MediaTek Dimensity 9300.

However, the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, on which the benchmark test was run, had a different chipset under the hood. Instead, Qualcomm’s recently introduced Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip ran in combination with 12 GB of RAM. Geekbench also reveals Android 14 as the operating system, which isn’t a big surprise.

According to a previous leak, the Edge 50 Ultra will have a 50 megapixel main camera on the back. There is also a 12 mm ultra-wide-angle camera and a 72 mm periscope telephoto lens with three times optical zoom. Motorola also includes a laser autofocus system.
