Motorola is preparing to launch its next flagship, the Edge 50 Pro. The drive will be provided by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The announcement comes from the company’s Chinese branch. Included were various teaser images that confirm the chipset for the X50 Ultra, which is what the Pro will be called in China.

But that’s not all – the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will also appear in the former home market USA. As usual, it also gets a new name here – the Motorola Edge+ (2024).

In addition, a teaser and a hands-on video have appeared that supposedly show the X50 Ultra / Edge 50 Pro. You can see a 6.7-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

We also get 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of storage. However, these videos could be reworked material from the Edge 40 Pro, as they don’t reveal anything that the 2023 flagship didn’t also have. There is also no sign of any new Android 14 features.

Finally, you can already admire the Motorola Edge 50 Pro on the Indian e-commerce heavyweight Flipkart with its own product page. Flipkart also confirms some specs like a 50-megapixel main camera with autofocus tracking in videos, AI adaptive stabilization, and AI photo enhancement guide. According to this source, the resolution is 1220p and the refresh rate is 144 Hz.

Additionally, Motorola said it will be the first phone with a Pantone-validated display that reproduces “true colors” and “accurate skin tones” in the “most authentic way.” The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be released in three colors – white, purple and black. More leaks and teasers are likely to emerge before launch.
