Motorola Edge 40 Pro breaks AnTuTu record

The Motorola Moto X40, which will probably be sold as the Edge 40 Pro in Europe and the USA, is still awaiting its release. There have been numerous reports and leaks, and we know for sure that Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset will be powering it. Now the head of Lenovo’s mobile division has shared an AnTuTu benchmark of the Edge 40 Pro.

The score of 1,312,901 points is around 30% higher than what Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones manage. Even the Plus variant of the processor only just surpasses the 1 million point mark. Some models don’t even make it into the seven-digit range. The new benchmark test backs up Qualcomm’s claims that performance has increased by about 35% over the last generation.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 uses next-generation ARM CPU cores. In addition to the main Cortex-X3 core, there are four Cortex-A715 performance cores and three Cortex-A510 efficiency cores on board along with a new Adreno GPU. The GPU alone runs around 25% faster.
