Motorola introduced the Edge 40 Pro in April and the regular Edge 40 in May. However, a third family member is still missing, which is now apparently close to launch – the Motorola Edge 40 Neo. The first specifications and prices came to light a few days ago. The mid-range smartphone has also been spotted on Geekbench, revealing a Dimensity 1050 chipset. While the exact launch date of the smartphone is unknown, the first images and a 360-degree video of the Neo have now surfaced. In addition to the design, this also confirms the color options.

The video of the Motorola Edge 40 Neo also shows the dual camera setup with an LED flash on the back. The text next to the camera module reveals that the phone will have a 50 megapixel main camera. A punch hole houses the selfie camera and we can also see the volume buttons and the power button on the right side frame. In addition to the speaker grille, there is also a microphone, the USB-C port and the SIM slot on the underside. The individual color options of the Motorola smartphone are called Black Beauty, Caneel Bay and Soothing Sea.
Previous leaks already revealed that the Motorola Edge 40 Neo will have a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a FullHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. In addition to the Dimensity 1050 chipset, there should also be up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Android 13 takes over the os part.
In addition to the 50 megapixel main camera we also get an ultra wide camera. The latter will probably have a resolution of 13 megapixels. The selfie cam will resolve 32 megapixels. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo could also be protected against water and dust according to IP68. In this respect, the predecessor Motorola Edge 30 Neo could only shine with a water-repellent coating.
For the battery, we’d guess a capacity of 5,000 mAh, which nowadays every good mid-range smartphone brings. The charging speed in the Edge 30 Neo was already a fast 68 watts. So the successor should also offer fast charging support. The Motorola Edge 40 Neo should officially launch on September 15th. According to previous rumours, the starting price will be €399.
