Thanks to an extensive leak, various technical data of the upcoming Motorola Edge 40 and Edge 40 Pro have come to light today. As expected, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will be the global version of the Chinese Moto X40. Accordingly, we can expect a 6.7-inch OLED display with 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
In addition, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro will have a 4,600 mAh battery that charges at least in China with 125 watts of TurboPower by cable and 15 watts wirelessly. The Motorola smartphone has a 50-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.5-inch sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide with an aperture of f/2.2 and macro capabilities. There is also a 60 megapixel selfie camera.
The regular Motorola Edge 40 has a 6.55-inch pOLED display with a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. The upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 8020 chipset sits at the helm. It can access 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Motorola Edge 40 with same 50MP main camera
The Edge 40 will have the same 50-megapixel main camera as the Pro. But the rest of the setup isn’t as impressive. On the back there is a 13 megapixel ultra wide and on the front a 32 megapixel selfie camera. The battery has a capacity of 4,400 mAh and charges with 68 watts wired and with 15 watts wirelessly. Both smartphones are waterproof and dustproof according to IP68.
The Motorola Edge 40 comes in two finishes – vegan leather and PMMA acrylic. Also we get four colors – Nebula Green, Lunar Blue, Eclipse Black, and Viva Magenta. The Edge 40 Pro has an aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus on both sides. Quartz Black and Angel Falls are available as color options.
