Xiaomi’s new Android interface MIUI 14 was announced about a month ago and was available for some Xiaomi smartphones in China right from the start. Now the stable global version of the new firmware is also ready. The flagships of the Xiaomi 12 series are the first models to receive the Android 13-based software.

The update also brings the latest security patch from January 2023. However, the stable version for Xiaomi 12 phones outside of China is currently only available for users who have already signed up for the beta program. The download has the full version number MIUI 14.0.2.0 (TLCMIXM) and is approximately 4.43 GB in size. However, the new Android 13 firmware is actually only intended for the Xiaomi 12. The Xiaomi 12 Pro cannot be updated yet.
But users of the Pro version shouldn’t have to wait much longer either. Two weeks ago, Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 update schedules came to light in two major leaks. The list includes various smartphones and also some Xiaomi tablets and goes back to the Xiaomi Mi 11. Shortly thereafter, the second leak brought the first ten cell phones that get MIUI 14.
For the time being, the update is only available as an Internet download and not over the air. As soon as enough beta testers were able to install the new firmware without major problems, Xiaomi should open channels for a broad rollout. From this point onwards, Xiaomi 12 users will receive a simple notification directly on their smartphone as usual. You can then install MIUI 14 directly via OTA download.
