MediaTek today unveiled its latest flagship chipset – the Dimensity 9200 is here. The processor brings several innovations. It is the first Arm Cortex-X3 prime core chipset with a clock frequency of 3.05 GHz based on the ARMv9 architecture. The CPU also has three Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 2.85 GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The new chip will be produced using TSMC’s second-generation 4 Nm process (N4P).

The second breakthrough lies in the new ARM Immortalis-G715 GPU with a hardware-based raytracing engine. The new flagship graphics bring Variable Rate Shading (VRS), twice the machine learning performance compared to its predecessor, and ARM Fixed Rate Compression (AFRC) for reduced bandwidth usage.

In addition, the sixth generation APU 690 AI engine is on board, which is capable of 35% more performance than its predecessor. The chipset also offers support for fast LPDDR5X RAM with a transfer rate of up to 8,533 Mbit/s. UFS 4.0 memory ensures fast data transfer and direct memory access to the CPU cores.
