Lenovo has introduced a kid-friendly tablet that fits between the Tab M8 and Tab M10 in size. The Lenovo Tab M9 unsurprisingly has a 9-inch display. The tablet can be seen live at CES 2023. Or wait for the second quarter (April-July) when it officially launches. The base model will start at $140.

The tablet has a 9 inch LCD display. It’s a fairly basic panel with a resolution of 1340×800 pixels (15:9). The brightness is up to 400 nits and the coverage of the NTSC color space is 60%. On the front there is a 2 megapixel camera for videos and Face Unlock, there is no fingerprint sensor. The main camera on the back has a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Lenovo Tab M9 with 5,100 mAh battery
The Tab M9 is certified to play HD content from Netflix. The 5,100 mAh battery promises a runtime of up to 13 hours when streaming videos. There are two speakers with Dolby Atmos certification and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

With a Helio G80 chipset with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0 GHz and six A55 cores at 1.8 GHz and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, the tablet is also suitable for basic gaming. The base model comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. But there are also 4/64 GB and 4/128 GB options. A further 2 TB of storage space is possible via a microSD slot.
The base model has Wi-Fi 5 ac, Bluetooth 5.1 and GPS. But there will also be a 4G version. The USB-C port is only wired for 2.0 speeds and the included charger is pretty slow too at 10 watts. Lenovo will offer a basic silicone protective case as well as a folio case with a built-in kickstand. The Tab M9 comes standard with Android 12 as well as several pre-installed apps. These include Google Kids Space, YouTube Kids, Netflix and others.
Lenovo will be showing several other devices at CES, including the Premium Tab Extreme and the Yoga 9i 13 dual tablet. CES 2023 starts on January 5th.
