A few weeks ago, rumors started circulating that September 12th was the date for Apple’s next big product launch. Today the company personally confirmed the appointment. The Apple iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, which may be called the iPhone 15 Ultra, will be unveiled on September 12 at 10 a.m. U.S. time. As usual, Apple will stream the event live on apple.com and on the Apple TV app.
The slogan for the event is “Wonderlust”, a pun of the word “wanderlust” and “wonder”. We don’t expect real miracles. Still, a lot of exciting rumors and leaks have been brewing in the rumor mill over the past few months.
Also, all four new Apple iPhone 15 models will have USB-C ports thanks to new EU law. In addition, the iPhone 15 Pro Max / Ultra should be the first Apple smartphone ever to feature a periscope zoom camera. Unfortunately, rumors have been piling up lately that the Pro Max / Ultra could be on the market three to four weeks later.
Both Pro models are also expected to get titanium frames, which goes well with the new gray version. The base models stick to stainless steel instead. The entire series will replace the mute switch with a programmable “action button” and there is no way around the Dynamic Island on all new models.
There is also an update of the Apple AirPods in the room with new models that could also have USB-C ports. Cheaper AirPods Lite also hit the rumor mill. Finally, the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch Ultra 2 are also set to take the stage. The latter should feature a microLED display and will also be available in a version with black titanium.
