A new main camera has been a big topic in the rumor mill lately when it comes to the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. The new wide cam is said to be based on the 1-inch Sony IMX903 sensor. Now a new tip from an industry insider goes in a completely different direction. Accordingly, the iPhone 15 should remain with the same IMX803 chip with 48 megapixels and 1/1.28 inch, which Apple already uses in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
That would be just as disappointing as the rumor that the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max will also inherit the M12 OLED panel technology from the current generation. The displays work very well, but they won’t set any brightness records again this year. However, the upcoming Pro Max’s display may not be as big as that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. According to recent reports, the new iPhone will be slightly shorter at 159.8 mm and slightly narrower at 76.7 mm. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is 160.7mm and 77.6mm in comparison.
One of the recurring rumors surrounding the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the much-discussed 6x optical zoom periscope telephoto camera. Apparently Apple uses this exclusively in the 15 Pro Max and not in the normal 15 Pro. Also, the entire iPhone 15 series will feature USB-C ports. A new Apple A17 Bionic processor, which is manufactured using a 3 Nm process, takes over the drive in combination with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. iOS 17 is used as the operating system, which is said to also include a smart display function.
