The new Huawei Watch GT4 was launched today in two versions – the 41mm “Pendant Design” and the 46mm “Octogonal Design”. The updated TruSeen 5.5+ technology is also on board. This is Huawei’s name for the set of sensors and algorithms for accurately measuring health data. Both Huawei smartwatches have 20% longer battery life than the corresponding GT3 models. The new series also features an improved Always-On Display mode with up to 20% more visible elements than before.

The 46 mm model of the Huawei Watch GT4 has a 1.43 inch display, the 41 mm model has a 1.32 inch display. Both are AMOLED panels with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels (326 ppi and 352 ppi pixel density, respectively). TruSeen 5.5+ also brings the new TruSleep 3.0 technology. Of course, this also includes sleep monitoring, which tracks sleep cycles and helps to improve sleep habits. Additionally, Sleep Breathing Awareness keeps an eye on heart rate and blood oxygen while you sleep.

Another innovation is Menstrual Cycle Management 3.0. Huawei claims its first day predictions are 15% more accurate than traditional smartwatches. The technology tracks heart rate during sleep, sleep temperature and other physiological factors to predict cycles and record symptoms in real time.
Padel tennis and e-sports
When training outdoors, dual-band, five-system GNSS provides 30% more accurate positioning. This should also work if you are surrounded by tall buildings. The Huawei Watch GT4 can track over 100 sports, including activities like padel tennis and even e-sports.

With the new Stay Fit function you can track your calorie intake and synchronize it with health data in real time. Activity rings provide at-a-glance information about the course of the day and show calorie consumption and training duration.
The Huawei Watch GT4 works with both Android and iOS smartphones. Apps like Strava, Komoot or Runtastic work with the watch just like Huawei’s own Petal Maps. The GT4 can also display SMS, WhatsApp messages, Instagram notifications, Facebook Messenger, Skype, Signal, Telegram and Viber and respond with short replies. Bluetooth calls are also supported. The battery lasts up to 14 days for the larger model and up to 7 days for the 41 mm version.
