Huawei’s new Pura 70 series is available in four trim levels, with the Pura 70 Ultra being the top model. It has the same core specs as the Pura 70 Pro+, but features an exclusive vegan leather back. There is also a more powerful camera setup on board with a 1-inch main sensor with a retractable lens and variable aperture.

Huawei has added a retractable mechanism to the lens of the 50 megapixel main camera, which allows the camera to unfold when in use. The rotating telescope lens has a complicated motorized structure that Huawei has tested to last 300,000 cycles. The main camera also has a variable f/1.6-4.0 lens and a focal length of 22.5mm.

Huawei has also introduced a new XD Motion engine to track fast-moving objects. The second module on the back is a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with a 90mm f/2.1 lens with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom. The telephoto camera also serves as a macro camera. The super macro mode gets up to 5 cm from the subject and offers 35x magnification. The ultra-wide-angle camera has a 40 megapixel sensor and an equivalent focal length of 13mm.

AI has been the buzzword of the year so far, and the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra also has a lot to offer in this regard. This includes cloud-based AI for optimizing photos, as well as the option to delete and retouch subjects from images.

Huawei is said to be manufacturing the chip locally in China using a 7Nm process, just like the Kirin 9000 in the Mate 60 series.
