Huawei unveiled the new Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design Edition and the new MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet at an event in China today. The tablet has a 13.2-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,920 x 2,880 pixels. The refresh rate is a gamer-friendly 144 Hz. The aspect ratio is 3:2 and the peak brightness is up to 1,000 nits.

There is a 16 megapixel front camera, which is housed in a notch on the horizontal side like on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The notch is necessary because the display has extremely thin bezels. Nevertheless, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 has a total of six speakers and four microphones. So voice call quality during calls should not be an issue.

The Huawei tablet is only 5.5 mm thick and weighs 580 grams. On the back you get a brocade fiber design and a circular camera module with a 13 megapixel main camera and an 8 megapixel ultra-wide cam. However, Huawei does not mention the chipset of the MatePad Pro 13.2. Supposedly the same Kirin 9000s chip is at the helm as in the Mate 60 series. There are also 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. WiFi is also on board, but there is no 5G version.

The software side is covered by HarmonyOS 4 and the power is supplied by a 10,100 mAh battery that charges at a fast 88 watts via cable. A new third-generation M-Pencil stylus and a new Huawei Smart Magnetic keyboard are available separately. The MatePad Pro 13.2 comes in green, black and white colors. Prices in China start at CNY 5,199 (€671/$711) for the 12/256GB version and go up to CNY 6,999 (€904/$957) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage variant.
