A few days ago, Huawei announced that it would host an event called “Innovate Product Launch” in Dubai on December 12th. Which products or at least product categories would be on stage remained a mystery. The teaser shared only suggested that one of the products would be a tablet. As of today it is clear that this theory was correct. The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2, which is currently available exclusively in China, is close to the start on the global market.
Huawei posted a video on X confirming the global launch of the MatePad Pro 13.2 on December 12th. The post does not explicitly mention the tablet itself, but does mention the hashtag #HUAWEIMatePadPro. In the video, you can see a tablet with a notch and the same wallpaper as seen in the official images of the Huawei tablet.
The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 is based on a Kirin 9000S chipset. It features up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage and runs HarmonyOS 4. The 13.2-inch OLED display has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels. The 10,100 mAh battery charges at 88 watts, which is very fast for a tablet.
The MatePad Pro 13.2 also has six speakers and three cameras. These include a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide cam on the back and a 16-megapixel selfie camera along with a 3D ToF sensor on the front.
