Huawei MateBook D14, D16 and Smartscreen S3 Pro TV unveiled

The Huawei MateBook D14 and MateBook D16 were launched today along with the new flagship smart TV Huawei Smartscreen S3 Pro.

Huawei introduced the Huawei nova 11 series at a major event today. But those weren’t the brand’s only new devices. Additionally, two new Windows notebooks came on the scene – the Huawei MateBook D14 and MateBook D16. The Chinese also showed their new flagship smart TV, the Smartscreen S3 Pro.

Huawei MateBook D14 2023 and D16 2023

As the names suggest, the latest members of the MateBook D series are available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes. Both Huawei notebooks offer 16:10 IPS displays with a resolution of 1,200 x 1,920 pixels and Intel’s current 13th generation processors with Iris Xe graphics chips. The Huawei MateBook D14 2023 is configurable with Core i5-1340P and Core i7-1360P CPUs, while the MateBook D16 goes as high as Core i9-1390H.

Both laptops come with up to 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 1TB NVMe PCIe SSDs. Windows 11 Home Edition keeps the bits and bytes together. The Huawei MateBook D14 2023 has a 56 Wh battery, while the D16 has a 60 Wh cell under the hood. Both notebooks come with 65 watt chargers.

The Huawei MateBook D14 2023 starts at 5,099 CNY (€679/$742) for the 16/512 GB model and goes up to 6,099 CNY (€812/$888) for the 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage configuration. The MateBook D16 2023 starts at 5,699 CNY (€758/$830) with 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, going up to 7,199 CNY (€958/$1,048) for the Core i9 model. Open sale in China begins April 26.

Huawei Smart Screen S3 Pro

The new Huawei Smartscreen S3 Pro is available in 65-inch and 75-inch sizes. Both TVs have LCD displays with a resolution of 2,160 x 3,840 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There is also a gaming mode that upscales to 240 Hz. The new televisions cover 92% of the DCI-P3 color space and achieve a maximum brightness of 400 nits.

Covering the software side is Huawei’s HarmonyOS 3.1 and both sizes get 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. There are three HDMI 2.1 outputs, an AV input, a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, and an Ethernet port. A magnetic camera for video calls is also part of the scope of delivery.

The 65-inch model is priced at 5,999 CNY (€798/$873), while the 75-inch model can be yours for 7,999 CNY (€1,064/$1,164).
