A few days ago, part of the rear frame of the Huawei Mate 60 was already leaked. A circular camera module was indicated in the images. Now, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared a rendering of the Huawei phone that offers a better look at the module. It’s reminiscent of the Mate 50 Pro, only the circle is a bit bigger.

Three cameras and an LED flash can be seen on the back of the Huawei Mate 60. The specs leaked so far, on the other hand, have brought new sensors and a periscope lens into play. The periscope telephoto is also said to be optimized for shooting in poor light conditions. The XMAGE label suggests that the image processing will once again be handled by Huawei’s in-house image sensor.
Unfortunately there are still no pictures of the front. According to DCS, the Mate 60 will have a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. That would be roughly the same 1224 x 2700 resolution as the Mate 50. Huawei is already known to be bringing back the pill-shaped punchhole, similar to the design of 2020’s P40 Pro, from a previous lea. But this time it’ll be installed in the center, which would be a first for Huawei. In addition to the selfie camera, there is also a 3D depth sensor on board, since Huawei is one of the last manufacturers to use Face Unlock alongside Apple.
Huawei no longer follows a fixed schedule when launching its flagships. Therefore, it is unclear when the Mate 60 could be launched. There are some interesting reports that the company may be abandoning the 4G versions of the Snapdragon chipsets. Instead, an in-house chipset could be used for the first time in many years.
