Huawei Mate 60: first live images are here

The Huawei Mate 60 series is likely to be launched sometime in the fall given that more and more leaks are appearing. So it’s high time for the first live pictures of the upcoming flagship, which are now making the rounds on the Chinese social media platform Weibo. The photos show the Huawei phone with a two-tone back.

Some kind of frosted glass seems to be installed on the upper side. The lower part is clearly made of metal, though. The previously leaked circular camera island is still there. However, since it only shows three camera sections, it should be the normal Huawei Mate 60 and not the Pro model. The main camera is said to have a resolution of 50 megapixels.

Previous rumors have suggested that the Huawei Mate 60 will feature an OLED display with a 1220p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Huawei is also reportedly bringing back the pill-shaped punchhole for the two front cameras and the 3D ToF sensor. We last saw this design on the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and P40 Pro.

We may also see some new software implementations similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island. It would also be a great way to promote the new Live Windows feature in Harmony OS 4. Huawei is also rumored to be working with SMIC on its own 5G chipset. The new chip could make its debut in the Mate 60 series.
