In addition to the gaming phone Honor 80 GT, Honor today also unveiled the new tablet Honor Pad V8 Pro. The Pad V8 Pro is Honor’s new flagship tablet. The hardware is correspondingly powerful. It is based on a 12.1-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, 10-bit color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color space coverage and 144 Hz refresh rate.

According to Honor, this is the first tablet with a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Another interesting aspect is the IMAX Enhanced certification, which streaming friends should be happy about. There are also eight powerful speakers with support for DTS:X surround sound to complete the multimedia experience.
The fast display is also great for gaming, especially as the Pad V8 Pro has a fast Dimensity 8100 chipset, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage under the hood. There are also variants with 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB. The camera setup, on the other hand, is not impressive, as is usual with tablets. There is a 13-megapixel main camera with an aperture of f/2.0 and a 5-megapixel front camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and a fixed focus.

The pack is powered by a large 10,050mAh battery with support for 35W wired fast charging. Unfortunately, Honor still uses Android 12 with Magic UI 7.0 as the operating system. Honor offers a magnetic keyboard and an active touch pen as accessories.
The colors available are grey, blue and orange, the latter featuring a faux leather texture. The gray and blue options have an aluminum back. The Honor Pad V8 Pro starts at 2,599 CNY ($373) for the 8/128 GB version, while the 8/256 GB and 12/256 GB variants are 2,899 CNY ($416) and 3,299 CNY ($474). Pre-orders are already possible, the actual sale starts on December 30th. Honor has not yet announced international availability.
