Honor only introduced the Magic V2 in July, but the next foldable is apparently already in the starting blocks. The Honor Magic Vs2 will be officially presented on October 12th, as the Chinese revealed on Weibo. The new wearable Watch 4 Pro will also be on stage. The big event on Thursday was preceded by the presentation of the Honor Play 50 Plus to the Chinese audience today.

Honor Play 50 Plus

The Honor Play 50 Plus has a MediaTek Dimensity 6020 chipset under the hood that boots MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. It has 256GB of built-in storage and two RAM options – 8 and 12GB. The smartphone is based on a 6.8-inch LCD display with a FullHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. There is a punchhole in the middle for the 8 megapixel selfie camera.

The 50 megapixel main camera, a 2 megapixel depth sensor and the LED flash are located on the back. A large 6,000 mAh battery with 35 watt charging support via USB-C powers the package. Other highlights of the Honor Play 50 Plus include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers and Hi-Res audio support (wired and wireless). The smartphone also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and 5G.

The Honor Play 50 Plus is available in four colors. The 12/256GB model costs CNY 1,399 (€185/$195/INR 16,275) and is already available in China via Honor’s official Chinese website. The price of the 8/256 GB version is not yet known.

Honor Magic Vs2

The Honor Magic Vs2 will reportedly just be a small update compared to last year’s Magic Vs. A recent Geekbench test already suggested a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and 16 GB of RAM. The Magic Vs2 will also have a 50 megapixel main camera. The predecessor also had a 50 megapixel ultra wide shooter and an 8 megapixel telephoto camera on board.

One of the highlights of the Honor Magic Vs2 will apparently be its case. It will be even thinner than the Vs, which already had an extremely thin profile of 6.1 mm when opened. The Honor smartphone has already been certified for 66 watt fast charging via cable. But that’s no surprise, it’s the same as any other Honor Magic V smartphone.
