Honor Magic V2: Thinnest foldable to date goes on a world tour

Honor held a keynote today at the IFA 2023 in Berlin, which was primarily about the foldable Honor Magic V2. George Zhao, CEO of Honor, officially announced the worldwide launch of the foldable. Oddly enough, however, Zhao left out the most important details.

Because in the keynote, Honor did not reveal how much the Magic V2 will cost outside of China, nor when the official launch is. In our view, this is not good news. In the worst case, it could take until Christmas before we see the Honor cell phone on the shelves in this country.

The Honor Magic V2 launched in July with the thinnest profile of any foldable smartphone to date. The device is also lighter than some flagship phones. And all this despite being a foldable with a very large main display and a 5,000 mAh battery.

So far, the Honor Magic V2 has only been sold in China. There may be a more informative event awaiting us, coupled with a real launch where availability details and pricing will also come to light. When that happens remains to be seen.
